Born in Caracas (10N, 67W).

As a teenager I developed
the habit of going to the movies.
Later, when studying Architecture
it became my favorite pastime.

As a Graphic Designer I have
been fascinated by ideas.
I am interested in the way visual
concepts develop and evolve.
I also like the way in which little
and big pieces come together
to form grand ideas.

I enjoy seeing and giving new
meanings to familiar things.

Having a busy lifestyle
I have learned that breathing
is an important component
to succeed in it.

I recently settled in Vancouver
(49N, 123W) where I am
enjoying the opportunity
of reliving experiences again
for the first time.

Throughout my career
I have been able to combine
my love of art and beauty
with strong concepts to
translate them into my
graphic work.

Coromoto Diaz

Sofia 6|8|12 3:00pm

Sofia 6|8|12 3:00pm

Valeria 6|8|12 8:35am

Valeria 6|8|12 8:35am

Fluevog Shoes - FluevogCreative: Some loves you can't leave behind

Fluevog Shoes - FluevogCreative: Some loves you can't leave behind: Entered this contest with...

Photo

fastcompany:

As its founder, Vincent Steer said: ’ … to bring together in friendship and mutual help, all those with a love of the printed word’. Although Steer could not foresee more than eighty years ago was the development of desktop publishing and the importance of the typeset word ‘on-screen’.

The Austrian artist Stefan Sagmeister (1962), with a degree at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and at Pratt Institute of New York, has lived in New York for the last seventeen years, and has for the first time an exhibition in France. Considering that there is no distinction between so-called “cultural” and commercial graphic design, he has worked for several of the great names in music (David Byrne, Talking Heads, Lou Reed, Rolling Stones), also executing numerous commissions for companies and institutions (Levi’s Jeans, BMW, Casa da Musica de Porto, etc.). For this exhibition, he has decided to focus on his commercial work done in the last seven years. Divided into four sections, it focuses on the distinct typologies that Stefan Sagmeister distinguishes in his work: “Selling culture”, “Selling corporations”, “Selling friends” and “Selling myself”. The exhibition designed by Big Game highlights the breadth of his graphic language, characterised by his subtle combination of the applied and fine arts: technology, intimist drawings and gigantic installations illustrate his disc jackets, commercial catalogues, exhibition catalogues, posters, visual identities, logos, etc.

Sagmeister always has an interesting approach to typography, from letters carved into his chest with a knife to coat hangers, plastic piping, and hot dogs Sagmeister has encouraged people to express their ideas with creative typography, exhibited in an online gallery called Things I Have Learned In My Life So Far.

One interesting quote I found reading about him is this one:

It’s kind of odd that our cities are not filled with mind-training gyms the same way they’re filled with body-training gyms.

2000-
The possibilities of typefaces made up of a single weight strokes in Illustrator has long interested Barnes. Removing the stress reveals the basic skeletal forms. Marian is a series of close interpretations from original source material of the classics for the 21st century.
